i2010 - A European Information Society for growth and employment

Representatives from the i2010 Initiative were welcome guests at EUROGI's 2006 Annual General Meeting.

[August 2005]: The Communication of the Commission "i2010 - A European Information Society for growth and employment" (COM 2005 229 final) outlines key policy priorities of a five-year strategy to promote an open and competitive digital economy. The promotion of exchange of good practices and the monitoring of the take-up of ICT-enabled services will continue to support the dialogue between stakeholders and Member States, notably in the context of the open method of coordination. The i2010 initiative is a successor to the eEurope 2005 Action Plan and will enter into force in January 2006.
