Mauro Salvemini has been re-elected President of EUROGI at the recent 16th Annual General Board Meeting (AGBM 2009), held on March 27 in Brussels, Belgium.
After completing two years in the Presidency of EUROGI, Mauro Salvemini took office of his second term for the period 2009-2011.
At the same meeting (AGBM 2009), the Executive Committee of EUROGI was renewed for 2009-2012 through the election of Johanna Runarson (ULI, Sweden - SE) and Johann Jessenk (Intergraph). As part of the re-engineering process Corporate Members are now welcome to serve in the Executive Committee for the first time.
The former members of the Executive Committee Sebastián Mas Mayoral (AESIG, Spain - ES) and Fraçois Salgé (AFIGEO, France - FR) were re-elected for the same period.
EUROGI thanks René Sonney (SOGI, Switzerland - CH) and Antti Vertanen (PROGIS, Finland – FI), who after serving at the Executive Committee for three or more years did not run for re-election.
François Salgé (AFIGEO, France – FR) has been appointed Treasurer of EUROGI for the term 2009-2011. The election took place at an Extraordinary meeting of the Executive Committee called for the purpose just after the AGBM 2009.
The AGBM 2009 also decided on a variety of relevant issues, including the approval of structural amendments to the By-laws of EUROGI, which completed the 2nd phase of its re-engineering process initiated in 2008.
The Governance documents of EUROGI (Annual Report 2008, Financial Report 2008, Work Plan 2009 and Budget 2009) were unanimously approved at the AGBM 2009. The Work Plan 2009 comprises a total of 36 actions and 134 prioritised targets, aiming to achieve four mid-term strategic goals: (1) Raising the profile of EUROGI at the EC level, (2) Expanding the membership base, (3) Supporting the members by promoting their strength, and (4) Improving the sustainability for the years to come.
